Yala Peak offers you an excellent view of  Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Naya Kang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, and Tserko Ri. You will also get the opportunity to immerse yourself in both the cultural and spiritual beauty of Langtang Valley. You will explore the ancient Buddhist monastery Kyanjin Gompa and visit multiple Tamang villages.

The Yala Peak Climb is short but rewarding. Although this route is relatively easier, it has steep climbs and rugged terrains. We recommend you keep an active lifestyle in the weeks leading up to this trek.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Am I likely to get altitude sickness on this expedition?

The elevation on this expedition exceeds 5500m. As such, the possibility of getting altitude sickness is fairly high. However, we have made sure to design the itinerary so that you get the proper time to acclimate. Our guides have years of experience in handling this and are well-trained in using first-aid kits.

They will also be carrying oximeters, oxygen cylinders, breathing masks, and first aid kits in case of emergencies. In the event of immediate evacuation, we will arrange a helicopter to pick you up and take you to the nearest hospital. With Nepal Social Treks and Expedition, we never compromise your safety.

What are the provisions for drinking water during the climb?

We always make sure that your health and safety is our top priority. Therefore, we will be ensuring clean and safe drinking water throughout the trek. Bottled water will also be available for purchase in many shops. All the lodges on this Yala Peak Climb will provide safe drinking water.

We strongly suggest you do not drink any tap water as your stomach will not have adjusted to the local water just yet. For your own safety, we recommend you only drink bottled water or properly filtered water. Additionally, consider carrying water purifying tablets for proper safety of water on the go.

Are there provisions for ATMs or credit cards during the trek?

You will have plenty of options for ATM and credit card facilities in Kathmandu. However, as we trek into more remote villages and higher altitudes, these will likely be more scarce to non-existent. We recommend that you carry the necessary cash for any purchases in these areas. Additionally, we recommend that you exchange all your foreign currency into local money. As we trek into these villages, you are unlikely to find many places that accept foreign currency.

How fit should I have to be to go on the Yala Peak Climbing?

Yala Peak is a relatively easy climb. However, this climb still includes about 5 to 7 hours of walking every day on an uneven and steep trail. The trail keeps on elevating and takes you to high altitudes. You need to be in a good physical as well as mental state to go on this adventure. We recommend that you maintain an active lifestyle with good stamina training before coming to Nepal for the climb. Once you get in touch with us, our team will be happy to guide you about the different physical exercises and techniques that you need to practice.

Do I need to buy travel insurance for this trek?

Yes. You should purchase travel insurance in your country before coming on this trek. Nepal Social Treks only covers the insurance for our staff. Please make sure that your insurance covers you for high altitude trekking.

What is the best time to climb Yala Peak Climb?

The best time to go on the Yala Peak Climb is in Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). The weather mostly stays clear and calm during these two seasons. However, be prepared for the fact that the weather in the mountainous region is always unpredictable. Wind speeds and cloud positions change frequently. You may start your climb on a bright sunny day, and the weather can change to gloomy or rainy. Make sure that you plan the trip with a few extra days to spare just in case of bad weather.

Will there be extra porters available?

Our trek package includes the porters (1 porter per 2 trekkers). If you feel like you need personal porter help for your bags as you want to focus on the trek and enjoy the view itself, we have you covered. Typically, a porter can carry about 20kg in weight, which includes their own backpack as well.

What are the safety measures for Yala Peak Climb?

Even though this is a relatively easy trek, there can still be some challenges when climbing the Yala Peak. Some of these can be altitude sickness, physical strength and stamina, unpredictable weather, and more. However, at Nepal Social Treks, we make sure to plan the itinerary so that your body gets plenty of time to adapt to the changing altitude. Our team of professional guides has the most advanced technology onboard for an accurate weather forecast and communication.

Our guides have been trained and assessed by the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA). Our team is proud of its excellent leadership qualities and professionalism.
