Overview

Yala Peak (5732 meters) is one of the more accessible trekking routes in the Langtang Region. Yala Peak is one of the least technical climbs. It is a perfect choice for people on their first climb or looking for an easy but rewarding climb.

Yala Peak offers you an excellent view of  Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung, Naya Kang, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, and Tserko Ri. You will also get the opportunity to immerse yourself in both the cultural and spiritual beauty of Langtang Valley. You will explore the ancient Buddhist monastery of Kyanjin Gompa and visit multiple Tamang villages.

The Yala Peak Climb is short but rewarding. Although this route is relatively easier, it has steep climbs and rugged terrains. We recommend you keep an active lifestyle in the weeks leading up to this trek.

Your climbing adventure begins at Syabrubesi. The trail that you follow will take you through famous trekking routes. You will be walking along fast-flowing rivers like the Langtang River. You can look forward to witnessing countryside terrace farming and farmers out with their cattle. You will also learn a lot about Tamang culture and see the influence of Tibetan culture on the lifestyle here.

The best season for the Yala Peak Climb is during Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November). The weather is mostly clear and offers you excellent views of the snow-capped peaks. During monsoon, the trails tend to be slippery and dangerous.

When you travel with Nepal Social Trek & Expedition, you can rest assured that our trained team is fully prepared. Whether it is history, culture, or geography, our guides know their craft well and will ensure that you understand the land you climb over well. We also have porters ready to make your climb as easy as possible. With a first aid kit in hand, you can be sure that you are in safe hands with us.

Is Yala Peak Climb Right For You?

  • The weather can be unreliable at higher altitudes as it can also affect your climb and put you at risk. Make sure you carefully choose which time of the year you wish to go on this climb as the scenery and surrounding conditions may vary between seasons.
  • You will have to walk for between 5 to 9 hours for about a week or more. Therefore, make sure that you are up for this adventure. We recommend doing some climbing exercises prior to the expedition. It will be helpful to be physically active.
  • The climb includes several days of walking over 3000 meters. Here, there is some risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). The symptoms are shortness of breath, dizziness, and mild headache. However, our guide will make sure to pace you slowly, with plenty of rest stops to let your body adjust to the thinning air.
