From the tiny airfield of Lukla the trail leads through Sherpa villages, Buddhist Monasteres, alpine forests of fir and rhododendron and across high suspension bridges meeting caravans of a yak-cow crossbreed along the way Namche Bazaar is a colorful, bustling market with traders from surrounding villages and as far as Tibet, and from Tengboche the views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam.Climbing above the tree line to cross alpine pastures and glacial moraine you eventually reach Base Camp, high on the Khumbu Glacier, where colorful expedition tents stand out in this desolate place surrounded by rock, snow and ice.
Your Yoga Teacher
Native to Berlin-Germany, Nadine Bubner has been practicing yoga for 9 years and teaching for the last 5 years. She is a registered International Yoga Alliance Yoga Teacher (200 hours) with Yoga Limbs Hong Kong and is Prenatal certified by Dr. Jean Byrne at TheYogaSpace Perth. She is a certified SUP (Stand Up Paddle) instructor by the Academy of Surf Instructors and Co-Founder of SUP (Stand Up Paddle) Yoga Hong Kong, which connects yoga with the sea, sun and ocean.
Arrival in Kathmandu airport and meet with guide of NSTE. Our guide will take you to the hotel, shopping trekking gears, evening briefing about the trek and all program. After the briefing meet with yogi to do some light evening stretching, followed by Nepali traditional Cultural Dance will welcome you with Nepali food, o/n at Hotel on 3*** B/B
In the morning at about 6am, our journey of adventure starts with mountain flight to Lukla (2,800m). At Lukla, the trail leads north from the airstrip to the edge of Lukla Plateau. After an easy walk through several villages we shall reach Phakding (2,800m). The journey will take roughly 3-4 hours, followed by evening Yoga Practice on the land of yeti. O/n Phakding, (B, L, D)
Early morning Yoga, then after breakfast we proceed our journey continue towards Base Camp. We start off with a gentle trail passing several villages, beautiful pine forest, coming to Jorsalee (2800m). From Jorsale, we follow the Dudhkosi River for about one hour and begin our ascent up a steep trail to reach Namche. Namche Bazaar is the administrative capital of the region, historically it was the staging point for trading expeditions to Tibet and its Saturday market remains an important event bringing traders from villages a week’s walk away. Nearly more than half the trail is quite steep, allowing one to enjoy the breath-taking first view of Everest (8,848m), Nuptse (7,879m) and Lhotse (8,383m). Walking time is about 6 hours. Early Morning Yoga with sunrise over snow capped mountain & sound of prayers at monastery, After Breakfast we start our hiking to Khumjung Valley, where the trail leads to a steep climb for about one hour to Shyangboche. From the top of Shyangboche, one can get a glimpse of Mt. Everest (8848m), Ama Dablam (6856m), Themserku (6608m), Nuptse (7879m), and Lhotse (8383m). From there, the trail leads downwards to Khumjung, where can see Sir Edmund Hillary School and a local hospital. Walking time is about 5-6 hours. Evening Yoga, O/n at Namche Bazaar, (B, L, D)
Early morning Yoga, after Breakfast our adventure continues. From Namche Bazaar, a flat trail leads to Kayanjuma view of Everest, Amadablam, Thamserku and we will descend to Phunki Thanga through a beautiful pine forest. The trail then leads rapidly up towards Thyangboche, a beautiful place with a Monastery & views of Everest. Walking time takes about 6 hours. Early morning Yoga then mediation at Monastery, after breakfast our adventure continues towards Dingbouche. From Tengpoche, it’s a short steep and muddy descent to Dingboche through birches, conifers and Rhododendron forest. After a long walk we will pass through several villages such as Dingboche, Pangboche, finally reaching Dingbouche. Evening Yoga, Walking time – about 6 hours. O/n Dingboche, (B, L, D)
Early morning Yoga, after breakfast, we have this as an optional day for those who want to go for hiking to Chhukung, with great views of Everest, Amadalam, Lothse, Nuptse. After getting back from Day hike we will have some rest then practice evening yoga.
Morning Yoga and after breakfast we continue our adventure towards Base Camp. At Dingbouche, the trail leads to Dugla (4,620m) followed by 2 hours of ascent to Lobuche where we will practice evening yoga. Walking time – about 6 hours. O/n Lobuche, (B, L,D)
Morning Yoga then after breakfast continue our most interesting & beautiful day by the Khumbu Glacier, views of Mt Pumori, Nuptse, Lotshe, Everest& views of Everest Base camp. From Lobuche trail winds through some flat sections, several small ascends before descending to Gorakshep. Walking time takes about 3 hours. After lunch at Gorekshep head to Everest base camp our ultimate destination & back to Gorekshep takes about 4 hours. Evening yoga at Everest Base Camp! O/n at GorakShep, (B,L,D)
Early morning before sunrise we hike up to Kalapattar (5,545m) catching the first rays of sun over some of the highest peaks of the world. Here we will be meditating at the top of the world! Kalapattar is the most popular place for breath taking mountain views of Mt. Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Themserku (6,608m), Nuptse (7,879m), and Lhotse (8,383m). Walking time takes about 6-7 hours. O/n at Pheriche, (B,L,D)
Morning Yoga & after breakfast leave for Phorste. From Pheriche, trails starts downhill until Pangbouche then an easy walk up and then down to reach Phorste with views of the Himalayas. Here we will be able to see some wild animals such as musk deer, wild boars, mountain goat & many birds. Walking time approx. 5 hours. Evening Yoga & meditation at monastery. O/n at Phorste, (B,L,D)
Morning Yoga then hike the same way back to Lukla, Walking time takes about 5 hours, evening yoga. O/n Manjo.
Morning Yoga then progress to Lukla, the trails leads downhill via Dudhkoshi River. Walking time about 5 hours, evening yoga & trek-completion celebration with singing and dancing! O/n at Lukla, (B, L, D)
In the morning, flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu we will go to visit Nepal Orphans Home & play with the kids (optional). The evening will be relaxing, and you can get a massage & do some shopping. We will close with a Farewell Dinner party.
