Everest High Passes Trek is perfect for trekkers or mountaineers who love a challenge a true adventure and want to cover almost all the Gems the Khumbu Region has to offer. Also known as The Everest Circuit Trek it incorporates Lower Khumbu, the three highest passes of Khumbu region namely Renjo La (5,360m), Cho La (5,420m) and Kongma La (5,535 m) and Everest Base Camp. This trek takes you through incredible landscapes whilst soaking in fantastic ancient cultures it will offer you unsurpassed views of enormous snow-capped mountains and incredible landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see.It will challenge you at times but always provide you with a very special and different experience of your time spent in The Himalayas compared to most.
One of our team will be at the airport to pick you up and escort you by private transport to your pre-arranged hotel. There will be time for you to settle. In the evening you will meet your guide and be briefed about the itinerary.
After breakfast, a full day is spent sightseeing around Kathmandu with visits to the popular UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Boudhanath Stupa. I the evening prepare for the trek and last minutes shopping.
A short but very scenic 40-minute flight to Lukla.Amazing views of hills and snow covered mountains. After landing in Lukla, we organize our gear and meet the rest of the team, and please remember to put all the items you want to have access to in your daypack, as your luggage will go ahead with the porters.The trek begins to Phakding by way of Chheplung Village. Upon reaching Cheplung Village,a few views on the way of what is an easy and short day Mt. Khumbila (5,761 m) as we descend to Phakding.Overnight Lodge
After breakfast, we start our trek passing through beautiful pine forest to reach Monjo. At Monjo we cross the Dudh Koshi River and enter The Sagarmatha National Park. Then a suspension bridge decorated with colorful prayer flags will lead you to Jorsale village. The Bhote Koshi River and Dudh Koshi River keeps us company before we ascend steeply to reach Namche Bazaar
We take this day to get acclimatized to the increasing altitude. Namche Bazaar is one of the main villages of this region,experience true Sherpa culture and traditions. It is important to stay a little active on the acclimatization day so we take this opportunity for hiking to the Everest View Hotel (3926m) to enjoy some great views of Mt. Nuptse (7,861 m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856 m) and Mt. Everest (8,848 m). We take a walk up towards Khumjung Village and visit Khumjung Gompa then return back to Namche Bazaar. Overnight Lodge.
Another day and we need to get going, we trek along the Bhote Koshi to reach Thame. The trail passes through rhododendron and pine forests and a mud-coated Stupa at Phurte following the route towards Thame. We descend steeply to the Khumbu Hydroelectric Project plant and then move on towards Thame. We can take some time to visit the famous Thame Monastery.Overnight Lodge.
We begin by ascending towards Taranga and cross to Marulung which is on the east bank of Bhote Koshi.Further on we descend to Lumde following a narrow valley filled with huge boulders. The trail throws up some beautiful views in an area filled with a vast array of biodiversity alongside the unique Sherpa culture.Overnight Lodge.
Today we need to descend towards Renjo La Pass, heartwarming views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Makalu (8463m) and the Rolwaling Ranges. Continueing on we reach Gokyo Tsho, a beautiful turquoise blue water lake shimmering in the sun. Eventually arriving at Gokyo Valley nestled against the Ngozumpa Glacier.Ovdrnhight Lodge.
A great day with a hike to Gokyo Lake and explore the nearby areas which include some amazing viewpoints.Get to see the Ngozumpa Glacier up close, which is the longest glacier in Nepal. You will also see Thonak Tsho (Tsho Means Lake in Tibetan) and Ngozumpa Tsho.Panoramic views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Mt. Lhotse (8,414 m) before we return back to Gokyo.Overnight Lodge.
A greta morning as we are greeted early with outstounding views of Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Cho Oyu (8,188 m), Mt. Makalu (8,481 m) and Khumbu icefall as the layout before us before we return back to Gokyo and continue walking towards Dragnag, where we stay overnight.Overnight Lodge.
We need to descend to reach Thangnak Village. Once there, a short break tea or coffee and snacks is welcomed. From here we need to negotiate the Cho La Pass. The trail may be slippery so care should be taken as we ascend to the pass. Beautiful views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m) and Cholatse (6335m) from here. We descend down to reach Dzongla Village. We comence with a hike to Chola to witness the beautiful Chola Tsho Lake.We continue oon passing hrough a small settlement to reach Lobuche Kharka.Soon after we have beautiful views of Avi Peak (5245m) in the background as we head towards Lobuche.On reaching Lobuche a truly stunning view of the Khumbu glacier is just compelling.Overnight Lodge
Though the day will be long, the alpine terrain is the reward with its stark beauty. After reaching Gorakshep. Here we have the opportunity to take a rewarding break, have some snacks and tea before proceeding towards Everest Base Camp. After reaching Everest Base Camp,We spend some quality time with close views of Mt. Everest (8848m), Pumo Ri (7165m), Lingtren (6749m) along with other great peaks,we then return back to Gorakshep.Overnight Lodge
We are hoping for the normal sparkling and clear day as we set off early to climb Kalapathar ( around 2 km from Gorakshep. It is now you fully appreciate your effort is rewarded by an almost surreal experience of the 360-degree dramatic panoramic view of Mt Everest and the surrounding mountains of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku along with many other peaks in the range. Spend some time to gather your thoughts before we leave for the easy walk for about 2hrs to Lobuche and onwards downhill to Pheriche. Continue down moraine to Dughla and then drop to the bridge over a gushing stream that flows out of the glacier. Overnight Lodge.
The trail leads to the Khumbu Glacier to cross Kongma-La Pass which is the highest pass of Khumbu Region.We then descend to Dingboche, which is a beautiful Sherpa Village our destination today Overnight Lodge..
A lovely day on our way to Tengboche through small villages, over bridges, old Buddhists monasteries, rhododendron forest and a few waterfalls. After reaching Tengboche we pay a visit to the largest monastery of this region, Tengboche Monastery. This is one of the main monasteries for people living in the Himalayan Region.
We pass through dense pine and rhododendron forest to reach Phunke Tenga.We then ascend crossing past small villages with a beautiful view of Mt. Ama Dablam (6856m), Thamserku (6608m) and Kangtega (6685m) in the background. On reaching Jorsalle and after some rest, we can visit small monasteries and stupas here.
Walking down once again we pass through pine and rhododendron forest to reach Monjo. Further on passing through Bengkar, Phakding, Nurning and Chheplung to reach Lukla. There will be time for exploration of the markets and stores in Lukla. This is the last day of the trek and a team celebratation is called for, a truly grand adventure is called for.
All good things come to an end but the memories are firmly st as today we fly back to Kathmandu with the last views of snow-capped mountains and hills. After reaching Kathmandu and the transfer to our hotel.A final farewell dinner in the evening to celebrate and reflect on one of the worlds greatest experiences..
