Dear Travelers.

Our goal has always been to provide you with a little more of a unique experience whilst you are with us. We work mainly in Nepal but our services also extend to the neighboring countries of Tibet, India and Bhutan where we have reliable agents that have worked with us for many years.

Nepal has nowadays over a thousand travel and tour agencies ,it is not always easy to “stand out from the crowd” so we don’t claim to be the best or most of anything. We simply run a very successful organization with a supportive team of over thirty happy and dedicated people with our own fleet of transport which helps greatly when organizing tours.

Our success can be attributed to many factors but three stand out. Firstly we are extremely lucky to be providing holidays in one of the most stunning and beautiful countries in the world. Secondly the bond we share with our guests is second to none, you will find us helpful and efficient from the outset, often long before you arrive.Finaly not least our dedication to strive to provide ever more creative and exciting tour packages for people to savor and enjoy. It gives us a lot of pleasure when our guests speak highly of us with a lot of our business being repeat guests nowadays. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions about us or Nepal without any obligation on your part.

Kind Regards

Basu and the team.

  • Tilicho Lake Trek
I had an unforgettable holiday in the Nepalese Himalayas( Annapurna and Tilicho region). Amazing landscapes, beautiful people and delicious food. The guide Kamal Pandey was extraordinary, he helped us in difficult moments, gave us trust in moments of difficulty. I would come anytime to another trek in Nepal under the guidance of Kamal Pandey. I also appreciate the services of the porter Sherjung Lama ( Rames ).
  • Tilicho Lake Trek

  • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
We booked a 5-day trekking tour to Poon Hill with added days on the end so that we could explore Pokhara and Kathmandu. We are both in our 60’s and always plan and book things independently but this time, we felt it was time to use a tour company. Basu the owner, was very helpful and came up with a customized itinerary for us. From beginning to end we were looked after expertly by Nepal Social Treks. All our transport and accommodation was arranged by this company. When we arrived at Kathmandu we were met at the airport by a very happy and smiling young man (unfortunately I cannot remember his name). It was a very reassuring welcome and he took us and our luggage to a private car for transport to our hotel. We were met there by the delightful office manager Samjhana who made sure we were ok and then arranged with us to meet at the office later in the day. The office was close to the hotel so we were introduced to our guide Madan who explained our trek to us on the map. They gave us lots of information and a trekking bag for the porter to carry and down Jackets. This was our opportunity to ask lots of questions. In the evening Samjhana took us out to a Nepalese restaurant to experience a delicious Thali Set meal and to enjoy some Newari entertainment. Next day we had pre-arranged transport to take us to Kathmandu airport for the flight to Pokhara. The lovely young man from the previous day and also Nabine from Nepal Social treks were there to ensure we got the right car. As all the transport and accommodation was sorted for us, we had nothing to worry about and our guide Madan met us at the Pokhara hotel to make sure all was ok for the next days trekking. We were also introduced to our young porter Ananta who would carry our luggage for the trek. We had a great 5 days trekking and Madan made sure we were well fed and safe during the walks and the accommodation stays. My partner was a lot faster than me, but Madan stayed behind to look after me, especially as some parts which were icy and slippery. Madan made sure the transport was waiting for us at the beginning and end of the trek. He also told us lots of information about the mountains and about Nepal. Our Porter Ananta was a very cheery young man who was fantastic, carrying our luggage up and down the steep slopes, especially when we occasionally got rain, thunder, lightning, and hailstones! The scenery was amazing and worth all the hard work up and down the steep treks. On the day, when we were due to fly back to Kathmandu from Pokhara, it was very foggy and we did not know whether our flight would go that day. I managed to contact Basu the owner and Samjhana who arranged a comfortable private car to take us to Kathmandu rather than wait at the airport for many hours, not knowing what might happen, so that was very much appreciated. Basu even rung me up on the journey back to Kathmandu to make sure we were ok and Samjhana met us at the hotel to welcome us back. On the last day when we were flying back to the UK, Nabine was there to make sure we got away on time and presented us with a goodbye scarf. Nepal Social Treks were always contactable by Whatsapp, which was a really big help to us. I wish to thank again Basu, Samjhana, Madan, Ananta, Nabine, the young ‘welcome’ lad and all the numerous drivers we came across during our 12-day stay. We had a fantastic time and I would thoroughly recommend them if you want to have a carefree trek/holiday. Hopefully one day we would come back again and do some more challenging treks with Nepal Social Treks.
  • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
I am writing this review to get you to know that I was in sudden to get to the Poon Hill trekking. It is such a great experience even in sudden with Nepal Social Treks! They accommodate us in every single hour during the trek. Even at last we failed to reach the Poon Hill they have another option to us. Basu and his team are the best! Couldn’t ask for more!
  • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
I just recently completed the Poon Hill trek. I think it is a very good one for people with only a few days available on their itinerary since it offers various types of landscapes and a really rewarding view of the Annapurna without too much physical effort. The accommodation was also good, and my guide Karun very helpful and attentive to my needs, he really contributed in making this tour even better. I definitely recommend this trekking company.
  • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
My friend and I did the Poon Hill trek in March. Thanks to our guide Aideep, the experience couldn't have been better. He was hilarious, kind and such a positive energy to be around. We were always laughing with him, and he was also full of knowledge not only about the mountains but Nepal in general. He always went out of his way to make sure our every need was catered for and that the group was happy. So thanks again Aideep! In the planning process Samjhana was also very helpful as we emailed her on and off for a long time before booking, and she was always very flexible and made sure the itinerary suited our needs. Special mention also to Roshan and Devendra for being the best porters!
  • Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
This is my second time visit to Nepal with Nepal Social Treks, they really did a good job for my first visit at EBC, hence I direct contact them for my second visit to Poonhill and ABC with 11 friends. As usual, they really make our trip organized, and everything is well prepared, My friend is so happy and enjoys it.
  • Island Peak Climbing
We trekked along the EBC route, for the most part, to go to Island Peak. Although we didn't end up going all the way to Island Peak due to a snow storm, it was an absolutely amazing experience to trek with Nepal Social Treks and Expedition. Basu and the Nepal Social team are professional and flexible. They responded quickly to help us organize the trip on very short notice. They were also extremely helpful in helping us navigate the change of itinerary due to unforeseen weather conditions on the mountain. I would come back again!
  • Island Peak Climbing
Booking a mountaineering expedition is an important decision. After browsing through several agencies in KTM, I am finally extremely satisfied and pleased to have chosen Nepal social. Basu and the whole team did an exceptional job. Kudos to our climbing guide Tenjee Sherpa.
  • Island Peak Climbing
I was hoping to trek to EBC after traveled to Tibet in the year 2012, and my dream come true with the help of Nepal Social Treks in May 2014. Furthermore, Basu has planned for us an amazing route, over 20Days on the trek, we covered Three High Pass (Renjo-La, Cho-La, Kongma-La ), Kala Patthar, Everest Base Camp, and Island Peak. Basu pickup us at Kathmandu Airport when arrival, treat us welcome lunch and farewell dinner, arranged City Tour for us after back from Trek, we even had beer and wine session at rooftop of the hotel, and having a great chat :) During the trek, our guide BUDDHI is helpful, before starting the trek, he will explain to us the detail of the trek later, so that we have some basic idea of the trek, example like how many meters ascending/descending, estimate duration, rocky route, etc... The company also arrange 3 porters for us, porters Lapar, Mingma, Sundi, are reliable, they arrived Tea House early, and put our luggage nicely into our room as well as our sleeping beg. We had a great time at Nepal. Thank you Nepal Social Treks!
  • Island Peak Climbing
After a couple of visits to other companies in Kathmandu, we walked into Nepal Social and the feeling was right. Basu was so personable and took much time to kindly and patiently answer the millions of questions we had. I ended up doing three different trips with them: 3 high passes and Everest Base Camp, Island Peak, and Indigenous People's Trail. Each trip was great and I always felt well looked after by all of the guides. I would highly recommend Dil! He was so kind and sweet. The management here is great also. Nirajan is the best! My experience with Nepal Social is that they are your friend above all else. While professional, the relationship I had with the office staff and guides felt really personable. They are my friends, not just a trekking company. Other guides that I observed seemed to be more distant, acting just like that: a guide. The guys at Nepal Social really make an effort to be your friend. They will let you drink tea in the office and will help you with anything you need, from visas, to money exchange, to buying trekking gear, shipping packages, etc. They are also really flexible to work with you to make your trip what you want. As I was signing up for the 3 high passes trek, they told me I could decide later to add Island Peak or Jiri. They take good care of you and will do everything they can to accommodate you and your needs. I can't talk them up enough and confidently recommend them.
  • Island Peak Climbing
I went with Nepal Social Treks Gokyo / Chola Pass/Everest Base camp trek. It was one of the best adventures of my life. Summiting Island Peak was unforgettable. Our guide Basu and other teams from the company were great. Definitely I will come back again for another adventure with NSTE and I would recommend this company anyone who is looking for adventure.
  • Bhutan Cultural Tour
Our Bhutan trip was also fully organized by Basu and Samjhana, who briefed us with the details for the trip the day prior to the departure. Again we booked a package which included flights (KTM-Paro-KTM), accommodation, meals, guide, driver, permits, and visas. Everything went very smooth in Bhutan, our guide (Mr. Namgay) and driver (Mr. Tobden) [as a foreigner it is required to be accompanied by a guide and a driver in Bhutan] picked us up from the airport and our cultural tour through beautiful Bhutan started immediately. Mr. Namgay and Mr. Tobden were dressed in the Bhutanese traditional dress Gho and welcomed us with the traditional Khata (Buddhist scarf, representing well-wished). Throughout our 4 days in Bhutan, we were able to learn a lot about wonderful Bhutan and the Bhutanese people. This country is full of culture, Bhutan is certainly worth a visit. Although after 2 days of visiting fortresses, monasteries and temples it is very difficult to follow all the explanations of the statues and paintings throughout, the beauty is still amazing. Basu and Samjhana organized everything very well. Many thanks to all friends from Nepal Social Trek, we had a great time under your care :)
  • Upper Mustang Trek
It has been my dream to visit the Himalayas for the past ten years, which is half of my life, so I had high hopes. I flew into Kathmandu from New Delhi and was met outside the airport and taken to my hotel in Thamel. After a few days in Kathmandu waiting for the other guest to arrive, we started our drive to Pokhara. We were stopped at night by a landslide, which of course the trekking company had no control over, so we didn't get any sleep the first night. Once we were in Pokhara, though, we were really lucky through the rest of the trip with staying on schedule. We managed to get the flight to Jomsom on the first day we tried, although it is often canceled for weather. We then started the trek with Achut, the best guide ever. Achut brought us apples, oranges, and pomegranates from Kathmandu to have each day of the trek, and all of the other people in the teahouses we stopped at were jealous. He also pulled some strings to make sure we always had enough to eat and drink as well as giving the two of us guests our own rooms, which was important to me as a female traveling alone. We took a great route to Lo Manthang and back over the course of the trek, and one of the highlights of my trip was horseback riding in Lo Manthang. At the end of the trek, we decided to take a local bus to Pokhara instead of trying to get the flight out of Jomsom, which was a very wise decision because the flights kept getting canceled. We then took a tourist bus back to Kathmandu. Pokhara and Kathmandu were great cities to explore with Achut after the trek, and getting around with a guide allowed us to see so much more than we would have alone. One of the things that got old was visiting the monastery in every village we stayed in. The only one really worth seeing was in Lo Manthang. The welcome and farewell dinners at the beginning and end of the trip with Samjhana were also a highlight. I'm definitely planning to come back and do the Everest Base Camp trek in a few years with Nepal Social Treks.
  • Upper Mustang Trek
I did Upper Mustang trek during the Christmas break. It was an amazing trail with so much Tibetan Buddhism culture substance filled along the way. I had a very good guide Pasang, who made all those long walking days not only tolerable but enjoyable. Greatly appreciated!
  • Upper Mustang Trek
My partner and I just got back from trekking in Upper Mustang with Nepal Social Treks. It was an amazing experience and one that I highly recommend. Basu is brilliant and the Nepal Social Treks team is incredibly helpful and pleasant to deal with. Our guide KB was sensational. We could not have asked for someone better. He provided us with a wonderful trip and an experience we will always remember. In-fact he has become a close friend and someone we will continue to stay in touch with. Our supporters were a great bunch of guys and a pleasure to travel with. I would highly recommend Nepal Social. They are professional, knowledgeable and have a social conscience in what they do toward their environment and community. Thanks for your brilliant hospitality. -Mal and Vicki
  • Upper Mustang Trek
We recently completed a trek of Upper Mustang with Nepal Social. What an amazing experience. Our guide KB was fantastic. You couldn't ask for a better guide. Truly an incredible human being and a consummate professional. Our team of supporters was amazing. And the service provided by Ram and Basu was fantastic. Overall, we highly HIGHLY recommend Nepal Social and we'll be using them again for future treks. We've done a lot of trekking over the years, all around the world, and used a lot of different companies, but Nepal Social tops them all. And KB is absolutely the best!
  • Upper Mustang Trek
We completed the Upper Mustang trek in mid-May. Nepal Social Treks were highly recommended to us and they did not disappoint. From the moment of our arrival in Kathmandu, they picked us up from the airport and accommodated our needs not only for the trek but our entire stay in Nepal. The Trek was brilliant thanks to our amazing guide Dil! Dil was generous, kind and flexible with our needs as well as good company and excellent at making sure we were well fed and comfortable. His knowledge of the area was great and we would highly recommend him as a guide. Thanks to Nepal Social treks for suck a great holiday - we will definitely return and use them again!
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
I; myself and two friends completed Everest Base Camp Trek with Achut. I could not recommend this company enough!!!! Firstly, Basu was so helpful and answered so many of our questions before we got to Nepal including organizing a customized itinerary for us. He then personally picked us up from the airport and settled us into a very very nice hotel! The next day we met our guide Achut who took us to the best shops in Thamel to buy gear for our trek. We struggled to fly into Lukla due to weather and it took us an additional 3 days. This was no problem at all as Nepal Social Treks organized further nights accommodation at the hotel and took us sightseeing in Kathmandu instead! Achut was extremely knowledgeable throughout the entire trek. He knew so much about the history, geology, geography and everything in between. He was also very switched on in assessing myself and my friends when we started to get slight altitude sickness and changed the itinerary slightly to allow for some extra acclimatization. Achut has done the hike over 100 times so knew the trek back to front and the owners of the tea houses. He always ensured our food was cooked to a perfect standard and our tea boiled sufficiently. When my friends and I suffered different bouts of altitude sickness he also carried our bag to aliveate the weight. We felt completely comfortable with Achut and knew we were in safe hands. He was regularly in contact with Basu to update him on our status and it was very evident that the company truly cares and is passionate about their work. After the trek, the service did not stop. Basu managed a driver to Pokhara for us and paragliding there. Both Achut and Basu have kept in regular contact throughout our time in Nepal ensuring that they are still of assistance if we need more recommendations or assistance. You will have a fantastic time in Nepal with Nepal Social Treks and truly feel well looked after! Do yourself a favor and book with Nepal Social Treks!! I will be recommending to all my friends and family.
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
Nepal Social Treks and Expedition went above and beyond for our time in Nepal. First off all Basu answered all our queries via email prior to our arrival in Kathmandu. He then picked us up at the airport and took us to our hotel (which was very nice nice hospitality!). On the following day, we met our guide and finalized the details for our Everest base camp trek. Our Guide Achut was amazing and we would not have been able to complete the trek without him and our two porters Baagai and Pemba. Achut on this day even took us around Thamel and helped us get our last pieces of equipment for the trek which were inexpensive and great quality! Achut was a fantastic guide highly knowledgeable constantly educating us about Nepal, its culture, the mountains, flora, and fauna of the trek. He helped our members of the group when they fell ill and even carried our day bags when we needed it during the trek. He went above and beyond to make our journey to base camp and back a great experience and as comfortable as possible! Following our trek, Basu further helped us organize a car to Pokhara and then even paragliding at a very reasonable price with the best paragliding company in Pokhara. We cannot thank Basu and Nepal social trek and expeditions for all their help and for making our time in Nepal so amazing.
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
My first trip ever to Nepal and definitely not the last one. It was a well-organized trek by Nepal Social Treks. I will trek with this company again and again for sure :) Great guide, Kamal, made us feel comfortable and safe throughout the trek. He and our porter, Amar, were so competent and friendly - such a good company! Beautiful and challenging trek, just go!
  • Everest Base Camp Trek
Just finished an Everest Base Camp trek with my wife, 2 kids (13 & 10), my father (71) and 2 friends. Right from the start over 12 months ago when the idea to do it was dreamt up, Samjhana from Nepal Social Treks has been fantastic. She is very quick to respond to any queries and assist with all aspects of our trip. The trip itself was amazing! Standing as 3 generations at EBC was something special that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Achut, our guide was amazing. His years of experience in the mountains really showed with not only his knowledge of the area but the respect he is shown from other guides, porters and everyone who works in the mountains. He is a true gentleman who goes well above and beyond to ensure that everyone enjoys the experience. Our 3 porters were also fantastic and also assisted in all aspects to of the trek. When my son and friend became sick on the way down, this is where the whole Nepal Social Trek team really shone..... from organizing helicopters, hospitals, dealing with insurance companies, visiting them in hospital, organizing accommodation arranging transport from the hospital, they were fantastic! We saw lots of others who weren’t given the same treatment from their trekking company when things went wrong and were so glad that we weren’t part of their trek. We will return to Nepal for more amazing trips in the future as a family and can rest assured that we will be using Nepal Social Treks for any of those adventures. Hopefully, Achut can join us as our guide! Thanks to the whole Nepal SocialTrek team for an amazing adventure.
  • Langtang Valley Trek
I chose the Langtang Trek because I wanted to see the less busy part of Nepal and it was just absolutely stunning!! :) I didn't want to leave at all! Our guide and porters were absolutely professional and the people working at the agency are so lovely and tried to fulfill all our wishes! Thanks to the team!
  • Langtang Valley Trek
  • Langtang Valley Trek
Booked a two-week trek in Langtang through Nepal Social Treks. The communication between the office and myself was a very positive and smooth experience with swift responses and fantastic advice. Nepal Social offered me and my traveling partner a variety of services and options that were very useful, on-point and at a competitive price. In addition to help us plan our trip, Nepal Social offered us a guide, Mohan, who was phenomenal. In addition to the professional manner in which the employees at Nepal Social conduct business, they stay true to their name and are indeed very social. I was taken out for lunch upon my arrival to Kathmandu and was invited out for dinner and drinks at the end of my trek. For the reasons stated above and many more, I strongly recommend using Nepal Social Trek's services on your next trip to Nepal.
  • Langtang Valley Trek
Traveled to Nepal for three weeks in January 2017. Visited Langtang valley, Gosaikunda pass and decided last minute to go do Poon Hill and see Pokhara. Nepal Social Treks was fast and friendly with their responses. They listened to what we wanted and allowed us to really shape our own trip. They made us feel as though we were never alone in Nepal. The highlight was really our guide, however, Mohan was knowledgeable and kind and made us feel Nepali by the time we said goodbye. -Michael Eaton (Botswana)
  • Langtang Valley Trek
Many thanks to Basu and his team for the organization of our six days trek in the Langtang valley. The few issues we had were immediately solved and the team showed fantastic flexibility to adapt the program to our last-minute wishes. Many thanks also to Achut, our guide, who not only showed a high sense of responsibility, taking continuously care about our safety and health but also had a wide-open eye for everything nature was offering us: birds, landscapes, monkeys, flowers... we would not have discovered by ourselves. The porters also were very kind and helpful. We enjoyed doing this trek with Nepal Social and highly recommend this organization.
  • All Nepal Experience Tour
My trip to Nepal turned out to be a great holiday thanks to our guide Basu. He arranged everything for our group and successfully managed all situations during the trip. During the trek, he was most of the time behind me and other 2 girls, even if the rest of the group was way ahead – much appreciated. He showed us the local costumes, we visited the villages, we tried the local food (tastes excellent). Apart from the touristic areas, I think we managed to catch a glimpse of the Nepalese culture that is much more than only the stunning Himalayas mountains. After 10 days traveling, rafting, trekking, being out of the comfort I'm used to, I returned home enriched by this beautiful experience, more in touch with myself and happy that I got the opportunity to get to know these lovely and warm people. Highly recommend this trekking agency to discover Nepal. Thank you for everything.
  • All Nepal Experience Tour
We booked the tour with some apprehension as am just coming up to 65, never been White Water Rafted or Trekked and was traveling alone, would I be fit enough? Nepal Social Treks welcomed me at the airport with a traditional marigold garland and was taken straight to my hotel, The Moonlight. I was personally visited by Basu; the owner who explained the tour and gave me reassurances. I have to say everything went exactly to plan their guides are dedicated and you feel they are part of the family. White water rafting and trekking was awesome and was looked after throughout. Also, the Chitwan National Park was excellent and saw far more wild animals than I could ever imagine, the Hotel there was also first class. I did like the fact that the tour's accommodation varied to give you an idea of local life, rafting I stayed in a basic wooden chalet and at Dhampus on the trekking stayed at a traditional family tea house both very very basic but made the holiday. I feel I have accomplished more by doing this break that I would ever have thought it has given me a real feel-good factor. Even returning to the airport Samjana, Basu's wife visited me at the hotel together to wish me a safe journey. I would have no hesitation in recommending anyone in using Nepal Social Treks for their Nepalese holidays.
  • All Nepal Experience Tour
After a volunteer stint in a remote mountain village school, we wanted to experience the many beauties of the country. I emailed Basu and we began using Viber to communicate about the trip. I had ideas of what to do and see, but no clue how to arrange all the details. That's where Nepal Social Treks took the lead to help us do what we wanted to do. Starting in Kathmandu at the Volunteer House, a wonderful driver in a private SUV with leather seats and ice-cold air conditioning picked us up to go to the Chitwan National Park. This would have been a nightmare in a "taxi" or bus crammed with people. We were beyond thrilled to be able to be in such luxury! The hotel they found for us was exceptional! We went on an ox cart ride to see a local village, took a dugout canoe ride to an elephant breeding ground, went on an adventurous and thrilling elephant ride, saw a local dance company, and went bird watching. From there we traveled in the same luxury SUV to Pokhara before our 3-day trek in the Annapurna Mountains. We met our guide KB to discuss the trek and soon discovered that KB was going to be almost as awesome as the scenery! The trek was stunningly beautiful as well as physically challenging. KB gave us insights to the people, the culture and his experiences in life. We still use his phrases, "Don't worry, chicken curry" to name just one. He even looked after us when we were not feeling well, getting ginger tea and healing soup at the tea houses to take care of us. After trekking, we just wanted a comfortable bed and a hot shower, so we decided to take a short flight back to Kathmandu. KB arranged it while we were still on the trail and got us to the airport in time to make our flight. He even stayed with us until we were out of his sight and helped us faithfully until the very end. Nepal Social Treks put us in the perfect hotel in the middle of Thamel, The Highlander, where we could relax and shop for souvenirs. They took us back to the Volunteer House to get our things and then got us to the airport. Could we have done all of this without them? No Way! From that luxury SUV (it was a Hyundai, but for us, it was a BMW), to our experiences in the National Park and the Annapurnas, to the puddle jumper flight, to our lovely hotel, Nepal Social Treks took care of us and made sure we were having fun. They took care of details we didn't even know needed taking care of! Because of Nepal Social Treks, our adventure was safe, exciting, and an incredible tour of an awe-inspiring country!
  • All Nepal Experience Tour
This has been a great trip! Anyone can blindly trust Nepal Social Treks. My friend and I enjoyed the tour from the beginning. We were treated extremely great by the team who were always open to last-minute changes on the tours, very friendly and all their guides were great, giving all kind of explanations, stories and just making you know and feel how great their country is. This route is highly recommended to everyone who wants to get a general picture of Nepal. Route: Kathmandu valley-Chitwan National Park-Pokhara-Kathmandu. You can go alone, on a family trip or with friends as they can suit perfectly all the requests you can think of. Is great either way!
  • All Nepal Experience Tour
My friend and I went to Nepal last month for our short holiday, after reading good reviews at TA. We decided to book our holiday with NST, since our first email they were so quick on response and are very clear on what they are offering and all in reasonably priced. We then decided to Book the Kathmandu-Pokhara –Chitwan National park trip with them. When we arrive at the airport the staff of NST was waiting for us at the airport and the entire trip was well arranged and booked. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly we felt like we are in good hand. This trip was fantastic and we love Nepal. Recommended Nepal Social to my friend! Can’t wait to go back again! See you soon Nepal!
  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek
I did Annapurna Circuit with 9 friends in April 2019 and it was amazing. The landscapes were breathtaking and the weather was perfect. Our guide Kamal Pandey and the two porters Rames and Barta were always ready to help us with everything we need. I would like to thank all of them on this way. I send you a big hug from Romania and all my friendship. I can not wait to meet you all again. For sure I will come back in Nepal and I want Kamal to be my guide again. Thank you Nepal Social Treks for everything!
  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek
I had a great experience on Annapurna Sanctuary Trek with 10 Romanian friends, the greatest guide (Kamal Pandey) and 2 great porters (Sherjung Lama and Bartha) which made our trip easier and safer. Kamal was the best guide, joking and smiling all day, but very serious about our safety. I recommend Nepal Social Treks and Expedition, and Kamal Pandey; guide for a safe and memorable trip.
  • Annapurna Sanctuary Trek
I had this great experience only with the help of this awesome crew from Nepal Social Treks. They helped us so much with precious information about the trekking route, the peaks that we can see, food, HAS, etc. Kamal is an awesome guide and I recommend him because he has 9 years experience in mountain guiding, he knows every detail that you need to have a successful trek. Our porters Bartha and Rames were always smiling and willing to help with everything not only carrying our backpacks. If someone is behind, they wait, if someone is sick they try to cure, if someone is sad they will find a way to make them smile. Thank you guys, you were awesome and I can't wait to return back in Nepal for another adventure or why not mountain bike route.
  • Annapurna Circuit Trek

The landscapes are breathtaking, the weather was perfect and our guide Kamal Pandey and the two porters Rames and Barta were always ready to help us with everything we need. I would like to thank all of them on this way. I send you a big hug from Romania and all my friendship. I can not wait to meet us again. For sure I will come back in Nepal and I want Kamal to be my guide again. Thank you Nepal for everything! Florina
  • Annapurna Circuit Trek
We were a group of 13 people from Romania for the first time in Nepal. Our tour had all type of activities in different cities: - 2 nights in Kathmandu where we come in contact with the culture, the food, the traffic, the temples. I was fascinated by the traffic, everything was so noisy and so crowded, yet everyone was getting along with everyone and no accidents crossed our path - 1 night in Bhaktapur where we loved the old city with all his temples - 2 nights in Chitwan national park where we got a chance to do a safari by jeep, to watch the elephants getting a bath and also to see Ronaldo the wild elephant; we also did canoeing on the river where we saw some crocodiles and birds - 2 nights in Pokhara, the most beautiful city due to its Fewa lake and the mountains which surround it - 1 night in Australian Base camp on Annapurna conservation area - the trekking was so nice, despite the bad weather; the accommodation was to chill for me though, next time I will have a sleeping bag with me - 1 night in camping at a rafting resort where we also did a 3-hour rafting All these different activities and many more that I didn't mention, made this trip memorable! Many, many thanks to our guide, Basu, whom we thank for his presence and for reminding us to be present and enjoy the moment!
  • Annapurna Circuit Trek
Planning my recent trip to Nepal, none of the prepackaged tours met my needs. Working with Basu Panday of Nepal Social Treks I was able to customize my Nepal adventure and enjoyed the fullest. Basu combined aspects from both the Glimpses of Nepal and Nepal Family Tour added some items allowing me to see everything I wanted including some very specific requests and a few things I hadn't considered. One of the highlights was the five days I spent trekking in the Annapurna Conservation Area. Unfortunately, my mind thought I was twenty-five years younger than my body. If it wasn't for our guide, Himesh Timsina, who had more confidence in my ability than I did I'm not sure I could have completed it. It was truly a magnificent experience. If you are thinking of going to Nepal, work with Basu to plan your trip. And if it includes a trek, shape up first, then get Himesh as your guide.
  • Annapurna Circuit Trek
I had an amazing experience with my trek via Nepal Social Treks. All the planning from airport pickup, teahouses, and the weather was perfect. I had very great and wise porter Temba Sherpa and guide Urgen Sherpa! I will be back for a lower trek again with Nepal Social Treks. Thank you for everything Nepal Social Treks.
  • Gokyo Valley Trek
I was in Nepal making a trek to Solokhumbu and Gokyo valley. It was really great. The management by Nepal social was very good, our guide and the rest of the staffs, were very professional and helpful, I enjoyed with them a lot. I recommended Nepal Social Treks. I will come back to Nepal, maybe the next year, and I´d like traveling with Nepal social and the rest of people: Pasang Jangbu, Dzenjeng, etc. again!
  • Gokyo Valley Trek
I can't say enough positive things about Nepal Social Treks. They were amazing with communication from beginning to end. Very organized. I booked a solo trip (female) with a guide and a porter to Gokyo - through Chola Pass - and EBC. Even when our flight into Lukla was canceled the day we were supposed to leave, they took care of everything and we got there the next day. Throughout the trekking trip, my guide and I made changes to the itinerary depending on weather, how I was feeling, what I wanted to experience, etc. When my guide knew there might be villages with too many trekkers and not enough rooms, he either called the lodge owner or sent our porter ahead to secure rooms. Other solo trekkers were being turned away because there wasn't availability by the time they got there. Another important moment was when we were ascending the Chola Pass. It's always icy on the boulders and rocks, but it had started to snow, so it covered the ice and made things more difficult. Suman, my guide, was a true professional and told me where to step and with amazing communication and help we got over the pass safely. I ended up with a really bad sinus infection on the way down. In Namche, Suman helped me find the right antibiotics. He really took care of me and was a fabulous guide and travel companion. Many people I met along the way were commenting on how great my guide was. Like every adventure trip, things will never go the way as they are planned. Which is why it's important to have the best possible support team to problem solve and maneuver through situations that come up. Nepal Social Treks is that company.

My experience with Nepal Social Treks and Karun Pandey; the guide is the best till date. The team was a professional in every possible way imaginable. On-time, smart and fun to be around. He knew how to lead the group as a leader should, I highly recommend him and Nepal Social treks for future adventure seekers. He will be my go-to guide in the future and I will travel to Nepal again. His knowledge of the country, mountain ranges, and culture added value to the experience.
  • Annapurna Base Camp Trek
I went to Nepal in October 2018 with one of my best friends to do the Annapurna Base Camp trek, because one of our biggest dreams was to hike the Himalayas of Nepal. Thanks to Nepal Social Trek and especially to our guide Himish and our two porters to have made our wish come true. Himish is very nice, considerate, patient and understanding. Hopefully, we’ll meet us again for the Everest Base Camp Trek soon?
  • Annapurna Base Camp Trek
I've done nice trips with Nepal Social Treks around Nepal with a group of 12 people. Perfect places to visit and nice hotels they choose for us. Then I continue with 10 days of trekking to Annapurna Base Camp, we choose to stay at local houses and they've been very helpful. Easy to work and trusting people. I'm still working with a theme, organizing photo trips around Nepal. Hope to travel again for Nepal Adventure
  • Annapurna Base Camp Trek
Nepal Social Treks arranged a 10-day trek in the Annapurna Sanctuary (Nayapul to/fro Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)) for my husband and me on October 2017. (Our itinerary also included additional days in Kathmandu and Pokhara.) Out of a number of trekking companies, we selected Nepal Social Treks due to Lonely Planet's recommendation, TripAdvisor reviews, and largely, our interaction with them prior to our decision. Samjhana, the manager, was responsive and patient in answering many questions in the months prior to our trip. Her handling of our request for information and concerns indicated a level of customer care that favorably impressed us. As it turned out, Nepal Social Treks delivered splendidly, especially on unplanned events. Our guide, KB and porter, Gobinda were invaluable. Besides his knowledge of the area, KB was personable and entertaining, making interaction very pleasant. He paid careful attention to our needs and preferences (e.g. dietary), trying to provide what we wanted, where possible. Gobinda was hardworking, studiously carrying our load, and had a cheerful disposition. He personally helped me in some tough spots (e.g. makeshift bridge over an avalanche, steep descents) for which I was very thankful. The scenery was spectacular and the trekking invigorating and challenging in places, as expected. Mountains will never be mountains again, and infinite stone steps will always remind me of Nepal. One disappointment was the tea house experience. Though rustic as anticipated, most tea houses lacked in cleanliness and hygiene, especially in the shared shower and toilet facilities. While we arrived at Base Camp as planned, my husband, unfortunately, developed AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) and some GI issues towards the last couple days of our ascend. As his symptoms did not improve the day after we reached ABC, KB recommended an airlift. He worked closely with Samjhana and Basu, proprietor, (who were both in Kathmandu) to co-ordinate the rescue with our insurance carrier and the helicopter rescue operator. While it took over 5 hours of calling and waiting, we were finally airlifted, arrived in Kathmandu where an ambulance drove us to Swacon International Hospital. My husband was diagnosed with low-grade AMS, monitored overnight at the hospital, and checked out the following day. During this time, Basu visited us at the hospital, Samjhana shuttled me between the hospital and the hotel and picked up my husband the next day in the company car - all of which we were most grateful for. Due to over demand at the Diwali festival, we had to stay at three hotels in Kathmandu for our last week. Samjhana promptly made the arrangements, and ensured that our luggage were properly transferred from hotel to hotel. She was again very helpful when we had an invoicing issue with the helicopter operator. The issue was unresolved by the time we left Nepal. Due to Samjhana's persistence, we finally received the correct invoice a week after we returned to the US. She went beyond the call of duty, and did not let us down, despite us having completed our trip, and were no longer in Nepal. Her pleasing and charming demeanor, coupled with her deep sense of duty and genuine concern for her clients, made an otherwise harrowing ordeal, a memorable and redeeming experience.
  • Chisapani-Nagarkot Hiking
My guide for the solo trek was a young man named Karun who was lovely, respectful and accommodating. He ensured that I was comfortable throughout the trek and carried my backpack when trekking uphill through long and difficult terrain. He even provided fruit along the way as shops are far between villages on the trail. Overall, the hike was a short test of physical endurance complimented by spectacular scenery and a unique insight into Nepalese culture and rural life. My experience with Nepal Social Treks was the best.
  • Mardi Himal Trek
Highly recommended. Had an amazing time with this company. I received amazing advice from Himesh; my guide. Totally worth having experience and thoughtful guide. Every interaction with the company was professional and accommodating. Went on a solo trekking trip custom to my schedule. I would trust bringing my 10-year-old daughter on a trek with this company.
  • Mardi Himal Trek
This is a wonderful trek if you wish to get to really close to the mountains in a short time, that we did from Pokhara. Highly recommend this trek, especially great for people who also love nature!
  • Chitwan Safari Tour
I took Chitwan tour with these guys over a long weekend. They organized everything as well as a private car from my home. Then the team is lovely and I am happy to call them my friends. Basu even organised a free day tour to Patan and then a transfer to the airport on my last day, which was amazing. I am very grateful to have the Social Treks team and I will be getting hold of them as soon as I return.
  • Chitwan Safari Tour
We had lovely safaris organized by Nepal Social Treks. We took the canoe safari and jungle walk and the jeep safari. it was as perfectly well organized, our guide spoke good English and transport was on time (quite early on the first activity), comfortable and with aircon! Communication with them was super easy, they helped us via WhatsApp. A great experience, and a company we can highly recommend!

  • Gokyo Chola Pass Trek
A group of 10 of us went on this hike with Nepal Social Treks, 8 successfully completed this expedition with their guide Achut and his group of porters. Excellent support and service from Nepal Sosial made this very challenging expedition into a satisfying hike. Accommodation, food, and drinks were well taken care of by our very reliable guide and throughout the entire hike our welfare was his top priority. We had very good weather in the mountains during our actual days of hiking but unfortunately due to bad weather during our return trip from Lukla to Kathmandu, we had to wait for three days at Lukla waiting to catch a good flight to return to Kathmandu. In the end, however, Nepal Social arranged a helicopter ride for us to return to Kathmandu to catch our flight to return to Malaysia at extra cost. This is just due to bad weather at Lukla and is beyond anyone’s control. Anyone wishing to do the EBC hike we would definitely recommend Nepal Social Treks, a good Company that takes care of all our needs while we were there. Thank you Nepal Social Treks for the good support provided.
  • Gokyo Chola Pass Trek
After some research, we followed the TripAdvisor recommendations and contacted Nepal Social Trek via the contact details on their website. Basu and his wife Samjhana made sure that we would feel welcome in Nepal, even before we arrived. The communication and arrangements beforehand went smooth prior to our arrival. Even our many questions and change requests to the itinerary were always dealt with immediately. From the pick-up at the airport to the drop-off a month later, everything was taken good care off by the people in Nepal Social Trek. We chose the more challenging and longer route to EBC via Gokyo and Chola-Pass, our guide Achut was the perfect companion, he made sure we stayed safe throughout the trek and that we get proper rest in the well-chosen hotels/tea houses. The trek via Gokyo is very beautiful and it’s worth adding a few days more to the regular EBC trek. When we had to cross Chola Pass we were very unlucky with the weather, it started to snow heavily when we started to hike up the pass. The hike was very steep on ice and fresh snow, we were glad that Achut with his experience was not afraid and helped us to reach the top safely (he pulled us more or less up the pass). Going down over the glacier was not less scary, especially since we could not see a path since we already trekked with Achut for many days we fully trusted in his abilities to get us safely through the ice field and the most dangerous portion of our trek. Achut knows the Khumbu region very well and has a lot of stories to share, which was very entertaining during the many hours on the trails. When our porter became sick (AMS) and we couldn’t find a porter for hire in the mountains, Achut was willingly carrying our baggage for three days (luckily we packed light and only had 16kg together as a couple, and we loaded a few heavier items in our day-packs for that period). All in all, we felt very well looked after by Achut. I would recommend all trekker to hire a guide and a porter for the trek to EBC (no matter which route), as this ensures you don’t have to worry about accommodation, heavy load on your back (we have seen many people suffering carrying all their luggage) and the days planning, but you can just enjoy the beauty of Khumbu. If we would do this trek again we would again book the tour package with Nepal Social Trek (which included all meals, the tea with the meal, accommodation, permits, flights KTM-Lukla-KTM, porter, guide) as it makes the trek less troublesome and we only needed to carry cash for any luxury we wanted in the mountains (for example cookies from an amazing bakery on Gokyo). After our return to Kathmandu from the lengthy and exhausting trek, we stayed 3 nights in the city to relax and get used to civilization again :) Many thanks to all friends from Nepal Social Trek, we had a great time under your care :)
  • Gokyo Chola Pass Trek
I felt at ease with Nepal Social Treks. My whole trip was well-organized and flowed smoothly. My guide was knowledgeable and the trekking was spectacular. Such a beautiful country! Thank you Nepal Social Treks!
  • Gokyo Chola Pass Trek
I did a 15-day trek to Gokyo Ri/Chola Pass and Everest Base Camp with Nepal Social Treks. Basu was kind and easy to work with through the planning. The prices were fair and the service was great. Pasang (our guide) was incredible! Highly recommended for any Nepal travel needs.
  • Gokyo Chola Pass Trek
Cousin and I toured with Nepal Social Treks for 2 tours - Everest Base Camp & Upper Mustang tours from mid-March to mid-April. Contact person, Nabin was very helpful and quick to respond to our many questions via email. He was also there to meet and greet us at the airport. Cousin and I were able to create a tour plan for EBC with Nepal Social Treks (liked this flexibility) including Gokyo & ChoLa Pass which our fit guide Buddhi helped to make possible. I got altitude sickness and cousin had gastrointestinal issues - Thanx Buddhi for motivating and taking care of us during the trek. He acted as athletic coach, pharmacist and photographer for us in addition to tour guide for EBC. Thanx Dil for taking us around Mustang and teaching me ab

Eco Tourism

The Eco Tourism

The Eco Tourism Concept is to provide travelers with a traditional Nepali village experience, with an ecological base, yet providing some home comforts. Mostly we want to implement our concept in to village let’s say Annapurna is the most popular for this practice for example we have an Annapurna Eco Village composed of several cottages made of split stone with slate roofs. Each room is spacious, has an attached bathroom with western toilet and comfortable beds. The cottages are set amongst an eco-farm within a traditional Nepali village.

Eco Village means that our cooking is mostly done on a bio-gas pit which handles toilet waste and cattle dung. This reduces the use of firewood and gas cylinders and thus helps reduce deforestation.

The remaining sludge is used as manure on the fields. Garbage is separeted and recycled or composted when possible. The food is mostly grown in our garden without the use of any chemicals and deliciously cooked in Nepali style.

The Annapurna Eco-village is a perfect base for bird watching, butterfly photography, walks to traditional villages or treks to Annapurna Base Camp or Mardi Himal. The perfect place for some meditation or reading a book.

Suggested itinerary for Eco Village

Day 1: Arrive at the eco village, settle in & simply relax in preparation for the sunset.

Day 2:  Village walk in the morning. Local school visit in the afternoon.

Stay as long as you like & perhaps read some English to the eager school children.

Day 3: Visit the community medical clinic. A pleasant 1 hour walk through the village.

Day 4: Bird watching (two hours walk through jungle)

Day 5: Walk to the river & go for a swim or fish

Day 6: Enjoy a rest day or even help Shiva ( the owner) chase the chickens and cows out of the organic vegetable garden!

Social Responsibility

With the belief that we must contribute some part of our earning to uplift the standard of the places we travel and enjoy, we donate 5-10% of our total income to social foundations which work for the underprivileged members of our rural areas. We also contribute some amount of earning to Social Welfare Foundations.

Nepal Social Treks provides lot of opportunity for service in society through education and health camp contribution. We do have our own long term projects for school regular helping even now after earthquake rebuilding at Malekhu Dhading and Chaturale at Nuwakot.
