My journey to the Amazing Everest Base Camp- Syed Akhtar

Nepal Social Admin | 3rd Jul, 2017

Introducing myself, I am Syed Akhtar from Bangladesh and run travel business in my home country. After meeting Ram Barakoti from Nepal Social Treks at BTM (Bangladesh Travel Mart), we became good friends. I shared with him my dream of doing the most cherished Everest Base Camp trek with my friends. Ram immediately offered his proposal and I could ask for nothing more. I flew to Nepal within weeks and enjoyed the heart throbbing beauty of the magnificent Everest form close.

Everest (8848 m) being the top of the world, reaching the base camp in itself is full of adventure. Let me summarize my experience here:

The exhilarating flight to Lukla

The twenty five minutes flight from Kathmandu to Lukla offering the amazing views of mountains was one of the most memorable flights I had ever experienced.

The people and the service

Nepalese are very friendly people. But we found the people in the mountains more special. Their smile and hospitality made us feel so good. And their cooking skills is really praiseworthy. And of course the Dal Bhat was different in every tea houses and carried their own specialty. The life of the people in the mountains is hard. Yet they carry special smile all the time and do their duties. Even without any means of transportation, they have made the beautiful tea houses with a lot facilities to make the stay of the trekkers comfortable.

The Trek

The thirteen days of trekking gifted us with the most beautiful views. We traveled through villages, forests, and even got to visit the monasteries along the way. As we moved up, the terrain changed from green forests to barren lands but the beauty of what we got to see remained constant. The more we moved up, we forgot the tiredness with the relief to our eyes. When we reached the base camp, the sigh of relief and the smile Mount Everest were incomparable. The next day early in the morning, we climbed Kalapatthar to see the spectacular sunrise from the altitude of 5545 m.

In conclusion, me and my team would like to thank Nepal Social team for helping us with our travel. Would surely visit Nepal again and my next journey would be Annapurna Base Camp.

Thank you Nepal and wonderful people at Nepal Social Treks.
