The journey that starts with your bus ride from the country’s capital takes you through the stunning landscapes and uphill and downhill trails until you reach the summit of Mount Gangapurna. Standing tall at 7455 meters (24457 feet), Mount Gangapurna is located between Annapurna III (7555m) and Tilicho Peak (7134m).

Throughout this long journey, you will come across the alpine landscape, harsh vegetation, and beautiful Juniper and Pine filled forests. Besides, you will get the chance to learn the past and present traditions, norms, and values of Manangi people with an extra acclimatization day in the beautiful Manang village.

The most important and thrilling part of the entire expedition— the summit of Mount Gangapurna gets underway with the proper planning and guidance from our Sherpa crew.

They will set up four camps above the Gangapurna Base Camp: Advanced Base Camp, Camp 1, Camp 2, and Camp 3, where you will be supplied with necessary food and essentials. Additionally, these camps help you with better acclimatization so that you can avoid altitude sickness moving forward.

After you successfully reach the top of Mount Gangapurna, you can enjoy the mouthwatering views of Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Nilgiri (7061m), Tilicho Peak (7134m), Manaslu (8156m), Pisang Peak (6091m), Chulu West Peak (6419m), Chulu East Peak (6584m), and other peaks.

Is This Gangapurna Expedition Right For You?

  • The weather can be unpredictable in the higher altitudes as it can also affect your expedition and put it to a halt. Make sure you carefully consider the time of the year you wish to take on the expedition as the scenery and conditions vary between seasons.
  • For about a week or more, you will have to walk for 5 to 9 hours, excluding the climb itself. So, make sure that you are up for the challenge. If you have been practicing some kind of climbing exercises prior to the expedition, it will be helpful.
  • You will be scaling the Mount Gangapurna that lies about 7455 meters. The climb is somewhat challenging, so keep in check that you have a proper climbing experience before taking on this expedition.
  • The expedition includes a number of days of camping over 3000 meters, where there is the risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). You may notice shortness of breath and mild headache, but your guide will make sure you walk slowly to let your body adjust to the thinning air.

Our guides and Sherpas are well trained in first aid and will be carrying emergency medicines to help you in the time of difficulty. In extreme cases, we will rescue you using a helicopter. If you are unsure about your physical ability, you need to seek some medical advice before booking this expedition.
