Overview

World Peace Pagoda Hiking is one of the most popular hiking around Pokhara; no doubt, make a beautiful day for you and which is situated at the height of 1100 meters above sea level. It is a Buddhist monument located on a hilltop in Pumdi Bhumdi Village Development Committee in Kaski district, Pokhara. This Peace Pagoda was constructed by Buddhist monks from Japan for promoting world peace. World peace pagoda is also called Shanti Stupa in the Nepali language. World peace pagoda lies at the top in the southern shore of the Fewa Lake.

There are two main routes to hike up to the pagoda:

1) One is a direct route from Fewa lake;  take a rowboat across the lake from Pokhara and walk the well-marked stair path about 30-45 minutes uphill or

2) The second route is to walk around the Dam side tip of the lake and up to the pagoda.

The shrine was built as a symbol of peace and has become a famous tourist attraction for very long as it provides a panoramic view of the Annapurna range, Pokhara city, and Fewa Lake.

Your guide will pick you from your hotel lobby in Pokhara after breakfast. You will follow and walk to Fewa Lake and cross the lake. After crossing the lake you will start 3 hours uphill climb to reach the Stupa built on the top of the hill overlooking the Pokhara valley floor with majestic Annapurna ranges. You will spend time at the top admiring the views. Later trek down to the lake by visiting typical settlements located on the way. Reach to the boat boarding point and return back to the other side of the lake towards the town area.
