Is Naya Kanga Peak Climb Right For You?
- Weather conditions in the mountain region are unpredictable. The wind speed continuously keeps on changing, may invite harsh weather, and affect the itinerary in terms of the number of days. We may have to lengthen the package in case the weather becomes unsuitable during the climb. We suggest that you carefully make your plan and pick the most suitable time of the year for this climb. Although the standard itinerary is of 15 days, be ready for a few days more or less.
- For a week, you will have to walk continuously on the trail for 5 to 7 hours. We will take periodic rests in between. However, you must be well prepared for such long hikes. Prepare yourself physically and mentally to take on the challenge of the climb. It is better that you engage in some exercises to increase your stamina and strength before you come to Nepal for the summit. It will be an advantage if you have prior experience of peak climbing.
- Naya Kanga Peak stands at a height of 5844 meters. The climb is relatively easy as compared to other destinations in Nepal. Yet, the climb demands adequate stamina, physical fitness, and endurance. Keep in check that your body is prepared for the quest.
- You will have to spend seven nights over the 3000 meters. The thinning air may increase the risk of developing AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) among the climbers. You may experience various symptoms such as shortness of breath, headache, or fatigue. When you are ascending, make sure to maintain your natural pace. Your guide will lead you according to your convenience. Walk slowly to let your body adjust to the changing air pressure.
Our guides are experienced and well trained to handle emergencies. They will also carry first aid, including some emergency medicines. If you feel any sort of difficulty, do not hesitate to tell your guide. In extreme cases where you need emergency evacuation from any location, we will arrange a helicopter to pick you and carry you to the nearest health center.
We recommend that you keep yourself fit and active to decrease the risk of fatality. Make sure that you are mentally and physically prepared for the journey. If you are unsure about your condition, you should seek medical advice.
