Flight Over Himalayas

1 Day
Himalayas-in-helicopter

Himalayas in Helicopter in 1 hour

What good is it to observe things in parts when they are meant to be seen as the complete whole? The mesmerizing grandeur of the Himalayan border stretching between Nepal and Tibet can only be described once you have witnessed the full picture and with individual trekking routes, it will take you years to see them all and still find out that you have missed the tiny peak on the edge. With the Flight over the Himalayas by helicopter, we offer you once in a lifetime journey to witness the Himalayas complete and the way they were meant to be seen in the first place.

The journey heading out of Kathmandu Valley begins with stunning views of Shishapangma (8,013m) flanked by Dorje Lakpa (6,996m) to its immediate right. The aerial adventure heads towards Choba Bhamara and at 5,993m it is the smallest of the lot. We soon find ourselves headed towards the twin peaks of Gaurishankar (7,145m) where either peak is believed to be protected by the Hindu deity Lord Shiva and his consort Devi Gauri. Soaring above the glacial ridges over the eastern Himalayas brings us to Melungtse (7,181m) and once past the glistening Number (6,958m) and Karyolung (6,511m) lies Cho-Oyu the world’s sixth tallest mountain at an altitude of 8,188m. We head towards Pumori (7,165m) followed by Nuptse (7,861m) which translates to west peak signifying the direction it faces from Mt. Everest. The crowned jewel in the Himalayan crown stretching towards the silvery skyline reaching an elevation of 8,848m will be the icing on the cake as the journey finally overlooks the majestic Everest. The snowy peaks turning golden with the rising sun which casts an ethereal glow on the Himalayas is truly a memory to last a lifetime. Having our fill of the Himalayan adventure the flight turns back to Kathmandu where breakfast awaits us.

Flight Over Himalayas, albeit short, is a trip that makes for a memorable experience and we, here at Nepal Social Treks and Expedition, offer the best of services and safety measures to make sure that you can fully enjoy the Himalayan display.
