The Langtang Valley is a favorite trek for our guests,it is a rich alpine valley full of birds animals and rare plants. The valley forms part of the Central Nepal Himalaya, north of Kathmandu. The trek is considered by many people who have been there to be one of the most rewarding short treks in Nepal.It provides some wonderful mountains including the mighty Langtang Lyrung.
The area is less touristic due mainly to its remoteness. It offers a wilderness experience, fascinating people with a rich Tamang culture. There is time to relax into local settlements with a lot of wildlife and bird life along the way. Tamangis (the main ethnic group) are Tibetan in every aspect all but for twenty miles where the Tibetan border is found.Trekking into the high valley takes you almost to the base of the Nepal Himalaya. The trek provides “a high mountain feel” without it being too difficult. There is also an extensive glacier system to explore in the valley's upper reaches.
There is a lot of scope to vary treks in this region: one popular choice is to extend the nine day Langtang Valley hike for a further five days to the Sacred Lakes of Gosainkund (4300m) and the Helambu region. The Sacred Lakes are said to have been created by Lord Shiva when he jabbed his trisul (trident) into the ground to form the headwaters of the Trisuli River. Treks in Langtang and Helambu are combined by the crossing of the Laurebina Pass near Gosainkund. There are some beautiful forests in Helambu as well.

On your arrival at Kathmandu airport one of our team will pick you up to transfer you to your hotel. In the evening will meet with your guide, and he will brief you about the trip and answer any questions you may have.Overnight at hotel.
Today is the sightseeing day in the Kathmandu. You visit the famous UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. These sites have reserved a special place in the lives of the people in the valley. Their art, culture, and architecture have preserved the beliefs of their respective religions for over a thousand years. Later there is time to shop and prepare for the trek. Overnight stay at hotel.
After an early breakfast we head off in our private transport to Syabru Bensi our first trek overnight stay.The route on the way is very scenic with good mountain views along a winding road to Trisuli Bazar where we take lunch. After lunch we head up into the mountains on a rough road passing through the small district headquarters of Dunche and down to Sayabru Bensi for our overnight. Interesting old village that straddles a river.
Our destination is Llama hotel (don’t get deceived!!) but the lodges are fine. We trek along the Langtang Khola with occasional ascents and descents through dense rhododendron and oak forest,The area is good for birds and wildlife. We eventually cross a bridge over the Langtang Khola, from here we ascend steeply to reach Lama Hotel where we stay overnight at a lodge.
We are now entering the Langtang Valley with beautiful views of landscape and waterfalls to reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela from here there are some spectacular views of Langtang Range.We continue up the widening valley, passing through a few small settlements. crossing a monastery, we reach Langtang village which was devastated in the 2015 earthquake. New lodges have been constructed slightly further on up the vally where we.stay overnight
After breakfast, we begin trekking up towards Kyanjin Gompa, which is the main monastery of this region. On the way, we pass prayer wheels, water mills, chortens, and huge rocks with inscriptions carved on them. On reaching Kyanjin Gompa we settle into our lodge, then spend the rest of the day exploring this gompa and nearby area. Day 05
Today we rest up to explore the higher valley day. Waking up early in the morning, we begin our trek and go through a yak pasture to we ascend towards Tserko Ri for some gorgeous views of sunrise over the mountains from here. We have the opportunity to trek up to the Glacier..it is a long day up and back so can be discussed by the group.Otherwise there are some interesting side treks providing some fantastic high mountain vistas.
Wake up early in the morning and hike to the Kyanjin Ri before retracing our footsteps back down the valley to Lama Hotel trekking at times through dense forest and past small Tamang villages. On the way back there are some wonderful views of the Himalayas.Stay overnight in a lodge at Lama Hotel.
After breakfast,we begin our trek back down to Sybrubensi through lush green vegetation following the trail along the Langtang River. The trek today takes around 4 to 5 hours . Overnight stay at Sybrubensi.
Your 4x4 will be waiting for the drive back to Kathmandu after having breakfast. The winding roads offer the same scenic pleasure as on the way.Upon arriving in the valley it is a simple drive to your hotel, check-in the hotel and relax. Time for some last minute shopping for gifts and souvenirs at the local markets around the city. Later in the evening a farewell dinner with cultural dance is arranged. Overnight hotel.
Departure day and fond farewells, we will drop you at the airport with plenty of time to check in for your flight onwards..
