My Journey to the Annapurna Region with Nepal Social Treks- Sven Hendrick Hahn

Nepal Social Admin | 13th May, 2016

My trip to Nepal was definitely not like other holidays: It was more a lifetime dream coming true. So it was very important to have good and reliable partners for this tour, because on top I planned to write some articles about the Trek to the Annapurna Base Camp and about Neplal coping with the series of terrible earthquakes one year before in 2015. I have had some contacts to Germans living near Kathmandu and they recommended Nepal Social Tours and Expeditions for this trip. And after mailing several times to and receiving many mails with perfectly planned tours, I can say that this recommendation was very right.

Although, when you fly to a new country –and for me it was the first trip to Asia –you are a bit nervous about what you will see and experience there. So I was happy that my guide for the Trek to Annapurna Base Camp, Mr. KB Barakoti, picked me up at the airport of Kathmandu and showed me the way to the office of Nepal Social and to the hotel. This very good support was typically for Nepal Social. So all the way in Nepal, in Kathmandu, in Pokhara, on the Trek, they helped me to make this trip unforgettable and safe. Even my special wishes that I had as a journalist reporting about Nepali social circumstances and problems i.e. like poverty of children were no problem for them. So, after 16 days in Nepal, I felt very sorry to leave this fabulous country, but I have won new friends in Nepal. And after a few weeks, I published many articles in German newspapers about my travel: About the Trek to Annapurna Base Camp, about the consequences of the earthquake and about children in Nepal.

So now I can say: It was one of my best travels and I have some unforgettable impressions – and I also owe this to the team of Nepal Social, to Ram, Basu, Sajana and my guide and very special friend Mr. KB Barakoti!
