Dolpo & Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek

Dolpo & Shey Phoksundo Lake Trek Dolpo is located inside the Shey-Phoksundo National Park in mid-western Nepal, behind the Dhaulagiri massif, towards the Tibetan plateau. The region offers opportunities to visit ancient villages, high passes, beautiful Lakes, isolated Buddhist monasteries and also to experience the vast array of wildlife inhabiting the region, including Blue sheep, Mountain Goat, Jackal, Wolf and the legendary Snow Leopard. This remains a truly isolated corner of Nepal, time has stood still here for centuries as inhabitants of Tibetan stock continue to live, cultivate and trade. This trip covers you the traditional salt route from Dunai the headquater of Dolpo District to Shey Phoksundo Lake (Nepal Second Largest Lake)

Day 1: Arrival - Hotel transfer, tour briefing
Day 2: A full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour
Day 3: Fly to Nepalgunj (200m)
Day 4: Fly to Simikot
Day 5: Trek Simikot to Gyagru (2250m)
Day 6: Trek Gyagru to Shambayok (Talla Shanu),
Day 7: Trek Shambayok to Dhyugling samba, (3460m)
Day 8: Trek Dhyugling samba to Gurukpa, (3930m)
Day 9: Trek Gurukpa to Rakarbu, (4250m)
Day 10: Trek Rakarbu to Changmathang, (4450m)
Day 11: Trek Changmathang to Chang La, (4900m)
Day 12: Trek Chang la to Nhewatang Phug, (4390m)
Day 13: Trek Nhewatung Phug to Tashi Lung, (4150m)
Day 14: Trek Tashi Lung to Phyajang Thang, (4575m)
Day 15: Trek Phyajang Thang to Larcha, (4650m)
Day 16: Trek Larcha to Risarba
Day 17: Trek Risarba to Tangin village
Day 18: Trek Tangin village to Simikot
Day 19: Fly Simikot to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu.
Day 20: Departure.
