
Makalu trekking in eastern Nepal is protected by the Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Project. Established in 1992, it covers 2330 sq km. Among the 16 mountains in the park, it is home to Makalu, the fifth highest mountain in the world (8463m/ 27,766ft).

Formerly a restricted area, it spans five major ecological zones where can be found the lush, tropical Arun Valley, dense forests or rhododendron and fir and alpine meadows that lead to the might Barun glacier. Campare to other trekking it is long but tremendous an exciting trek from beginning point by bus hille or by flight Tumlingtar along the Arun River to the Makalu base camp. You will walk through beautiful rai and limbu settlements of num and with steep climbs to the makalu barun national camp. We would like to put here as an extra for you that while you will be doing trekking in the Makalu base camp you will also touch the Sherpani Col pass which is the main pass trail to join the Khumbu valley.
Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu. Met upon arrival. Transfer to hotel.
Day 2: Fly to Tumlingtar (950m/3,116ft). 50 minute flight. Camp.
Day 3: Trek to Mani-Bhanjyang (1,200m/3,936ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 4: Trek to Chichila (1,800m/5,904ft), 5-6 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 5: Trek to Num (1,500m/4,920ft). 5-6 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 6: Trek to Seduwa (1,493m/4,897ft). 5 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 7: Trek to Tashi Gaun (2,200m/7,216ft). 3-4 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 8: Trek to Kahuma Danda (3,500m/11,480ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 9: Trek to Mumbuk (3,400m/11,152ft). 5-6 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 10: Trek to Nehe Kharka (3,750m/12,300ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 11: Trek to Sherson (4,600m/15,088ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 12: Acclimatization and exploration days. Camp.

Day 14: Trek to Yangri Kharka (3,645m/11,956ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 15: Trek to Mumbuk (3,400m/11,152ft). 5-6 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 16: Trek to Kahuma Danda (3,500m/11,480ft). walking 6 hours. Camp.
Day 17: Trek to Navagaun (2,500m/8,200ft), walking 7 hours. Camp.
Day 18: Trek to Num via Seduwa. 6-7 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 19: Trek to Chichila (1,800m/5,904ft). 5-6 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 20: Trek to Khadbari. 6-7 hours of trekking. Camp.
Day 21: Trek back to Tumlingtar (950m/3,116ft). walking 5 hours. Camp.
Day 22: Fly back to Kathmandu. Hotel.
Day 23: Sightseeing day in and around the Kathmandu Valley. Hotel.
Day 24: In Kathmandu for free day at Kathmandu,
Day 25: Transfer to the Kathmandu International Airport for our departure.
