Tansen lies1310m above sea level, at the southern slope of Mahabharata range. It lies on the way from Pokhara to sunauli road known as sidhartha highgway.Tansen city itself is very colorful with its old houses and slopping landscapes. The city has small narrow streets and those who want to walk throught the city find quite interesting variation types of people – Magar,Bramin,chheetri and Newars have been living in the city. Tansen is very famous for its metel crafts like karuwa, jar and lots of metal items. The place is also popular of its "Dhaka Topi" ( Dhaka cloth, shawls and caps ) In the 19centurie, the Newars of Kathmandu valley migrated to Tansen to explore the new business opportunity. Shrnagar Danda:
Just half an hour walk from Tansen bazaar is Srinagar danda, which lies 1524m above sea level. From Srinagar danda one can see a gorgeous panorama of kanjiroba to landtang Mounatain. People can also hike from here.Tansen is a pleasant place all year around to visit. Tansen attracts many Indian Tourist because of its closeness to Indian Border.
Amar Narayan Temple:
Amar Singh Thapa, a famous Gorkha built the three stories of Amar Narayan temple in 1806. The temple has beautiful woodcarvings.
Tansen Durbar:
The Tansen durbar was built in 1927.North gate or baggi dhoka is the biggest door in Nepal .
Bhagawati Mandir:
Behind the tansen Durbar is the temple of Bhagawati which was built in 1815. The temple was build was built in 1815 to commemorate the victory of Nepal over the British.
