Kayaking in Nepal

rafting in nepal

We have our own kayak clinic in Nepal which is called the Royal Beach Camp is our basecamp for Himalayan Adventures! From here we do kayak courses on all level, from a few days beginners courses to multi-week expeditions all over Nepal for experienced kayakers. We also do rafting on the mighty Trisuli river and canyoning in our "own" series of eight beautiful waterfalls.

Our camp has an eco-adventure beach camp on the Trisuli river in Nepal. Royal Beach Camp has a perfect location between Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan Nationalpark, that makes it easy to fit a stop at RBC into any itinerary where you move between these three major tourist hubs.

Royal Beach Camp is located on a big white sandy beach on the riverbank. The camp is built in local material and has a charming outdoor atmosphere - but with simple conveniences like outdoor shower, spot clean wc and comfortable twin beach bamboo huts for accommodation. We also have a cosy lounge and bar. The food is cooked by our professional chef with ingrediences from the local village and our own garden. Our nice camp staff makes everyone feel at home!

Kayak course adventures

A Kayak Course Adventure is just what it sounds like - a course and at the same time a great paddeling adventure in the Himalayas! Our kayak Course Adventures is taking you from beginner level to a river running kayaker! You get to paddle two or three great Himalayan Rivers!

The courses starts out with a few days at the Royal Beach Camp. We start with the basics, depending on the level of your kayaking experience. If you have never tried kayaking this is where it starts. The first days covers how to get in and out of the boat, basic paddling and rescue techniques and essential safety training. We also train ferry glide (crossing the river) and getting in and out of eddies. We continue with learning the Eskimo-roll, surfing waves and advanced paddling and rescue techniques. We paddle up to class III white water on our "home-river" Trisuli.

A week Kayak Course

When we feel comfortable with our basic skills we set off from the camp and go river running! We continue practicing our skills as we paddle the remaining days. The river running part of the course is done expedition style and we are camping on the riverbank! A true Himalayan Adventure!
