Island Peak & Everest Base Camp Trek

ThIsland Peake trek to Everest base camp is one of the most famous and popular route in the world. It takes you into the heart of the Nepal. The Himalayan country of Nepal consists of mountain ranges from East to West to North and the North side has eight of the world's ten highest peaks. The Everest trek is justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world's highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures and traditions, festivals and monasteries. The Sagarmatha National Park is rich with flora and fauna; however the existence of the yeti still remains a mystery.

This EBC trek also includes the expedition to Island Peak which is just over 20,000' (6189m). The Island Peak expedition is challenging and extremely rewarding. It consists of some snow climbing however no previous climbing experience is needed to reach the summit. Island Peak is higher than Kilimanjaro therefore acclimatization is needed before the climb. This acclimatization is done by trekking to the highest Base Camp in the world - Everest Base Camp

Everest Base CampKalapathar(A Black Mountain) (5550m)
Kala Patthar is a black mountain that lies in the Nepal Himalaya. It appears as a big brown bump below the impressive south face of Pumori (7,161m / 23,494ft). Many trekkers in the region of Mount Everest attempt to summit Kala Patthar, because it provides the best and most beautiful view Mt. Everest and a 360º view of the Himalayas. Summiting this mountain provides the best view of Everest, Lhotse and Nuptse, (due to the structure of Everest, the peak cannot be seen from the base camp).

Treks Highlights:
Some highlights of this trek include Buddhist Monasteres, Alpine forests of fir and rhododendron, high suspension bridges, meeting caravans of yaks and yak-cow crossbreeds along the way. Namche Bazaar is a colorful, bustling market with traders from surrounding villages and as far as Tibet. From Tengboche Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam can all be seen. Climbing above the tree line to cross alpine pastures and glacial moraine you eventually reach Base Camp, high on the Khumbu Glacier, where colorful expedition tents give a bizarre appearance to this desolate place surrounded by rock, snow and ice.
